Welcome to Sumthing Inked!
Hi there! Some of you may know me already, but if you don't, my name is Summer! I am a fresh off the boat tattoo artist located at the one and only Ink or Dye Studio in Centreville, MD. I've just about completed my first year of tattooing - wow! What an accomplishment. With that being said, I've been a part of the tattooing industry for five years now, and I've realized one thing: I've got a lot to say.

Writing has always been a passion of mine. So much so that I thought about turning back to my education just for the opportunity to write again. Instead, I've decided to start my new blog and brand, Sumthing Inked! Ever wanted an insider glimpse to such a fascinating industry? This is where to find it! There's more to the tattoo world than inking some skin. Through the good and the bad, the dark times and highlights of my career so far, I'm beyond excited to share with you guys the knowledge I've gained over the years and continue to document my growth through my writing.
While there are tattooers out there who have extensively more knowledge than I do, this blog isn't about sharing my twenty some years of experience - it's about creating something alongside my journey into this career to share with the world besides my art.
So what will we talk about?
Everything! How it all started, what I learned about business, the economy, tips and tricks, mental health, and much more. As a Gen Z artist in this industry, I know it's hard to be taken seriously; it's hard to make a name for yourself in virtually any career. My objective is to connect with each and every one of you as not just an artist, but as a person just learning to navigate the world. Tattoo artists are people too, and if there's one thing I've learned it's that on both sides of the coin it can be hard to separate the two sometimes. And if you struggle with that, that's okay! I want to create a space that allows other artists like me to understand they're not alone in their experience and give our clients a new perspective at such an interesting and diverse career.
With that I thank you, for sticking it out with me through every moment I've had so far, and many more to come!
This blog will be updated every Sunday with all new topics and exciting tidbits, so hit that subscribe button, give me a follow and see what life is all about on the other side of the tattoo world.
Love your vibe!!! Tattoos are top notch, super clean. Looking forward to seeing what you do next!
